About Us

Originally started in northern California in October of 2020, Bay Area Bottles was founded by Paul Nash. Paul began Bay Area Bottles with the intention of selling high-quality low-cost packaging with an uncompromising focus on customer service. Paul worked in the packaging industry for 5 years distributing for most major manufacturers in the US as well as other large and small distributors. He noticed that one of the glaring absences in the industry was true customer service. This is where Paul knew he could shine and create a company that would help customers find their products even if he did not have what they needed. Instead of simply letting customers know that an item was not in stock, Paul would point customers toward other manufacturers or distributors who did carry that item. It was more important for a customer to get what they were looking for than for a customer to get that item from Bay Area Bottles. And the doors were open.

Having gained years of previous experience in the container packaging industry, Paul was able to use his established connections in the industry and harness his relationships with major US manufacturers and distributors to sell quality packaging in a unique way. With customer service as the cornerstone of the business model, Paul was able to separate himself from the pack. Low pricing, quality packaging from top notch manufacturers, and close attention to every customer is what makes Bay Area Bottles the best packaging company in the industry.

But what makes Paul’s approach to the packaging industry truly different is the attention to what is called eco-friendlier packaging. Not Eco-friendly packaging, just eco-friendlier. As most people know, the best packaging for our environment is no packaging at all. But until we reach a point where no packaging is feasible, Bay Area Bottles uses eco-friendlier methods to lessen their impact and the impact their customers have.

Below are some of these eco-friendlier services and options.

Minimizing Shipping

Minimizing Shipping

We distribute for vendors internationally as well as all over the United States, so we are able to ship from locations that are closer to the customer. This allows us to reduce the carbon footprint associated with shipping by cutting shipping distances down. Another way we minimize shipping is by drop-shipping directly from the production plant whenever the project allows. If we can remove one or more legs of freight, significantly reducing the customer's carbon footprint, we will be very happy.

Reducing the Number of Components

Reducing the Number of Components

We will recommend as few components as possible. For example, if the aesthetics of a face cream project allow, we recommend a lock-up treatment pump with no hood. Removing the hood is one more way we are keeping an extra piece of plastic out of circulation.

Reusing Sample Boxes

Reusing Sample Boxes

Your samples may show up in a box that looks less than brand new. We reuse as many boxes as we can when sending out customer samples.

Increasing the Recyclability of Our Products

Increasing the Recyclability of Our Products

One example of this is our PE foam-lined polypropylene caps. In many cases, liners such as PE foam are glued into the caps. At many recycling locations (check with your state and local guidelines), the inability to remove the cap's foam portion makes it difficult to recycle as it is considered mixed plastic. We can provide caps and liners that are assembled without glue. This makes the liner easy to remove after use, making the cap portion and the liner recyclable.

Plant-Based Labels

Plant-Based Labels

We can use plant based labels when requested. Typically container labels are made of paper that is laminated with two or more layers of very thin plastic. For anyone looking to use a little less paper and plastic, plant based labels are a great choice.

These are just a few of the eco-friendlier services options we offer. When someone asks how you are making a difference, you can say you are using Bay Area Bottles.
